Immersion Series Overview:
Learn the art of teaching yoga in a nuturing environment, and share deeply with others on your journey to the truth of your practice. John Friend, Anusara founder, has designated this Immersion program as a prerequisite for Teacher Training in the Anusara tradition. Completion of Immersions I-III, the Teacher Immersion, assignments and reading, along with the Apprenticeship qualifies for Yoga Alliance ™ at the 200 hour level, and can be applied toward Anusara inspired or certified status. This program is designed to accommodate school, work, holidays and family and the timeframe allows for optimal processing of reading and assignments, and the development of your personal practice.
Immersion I: OPEN TO GRACE Create your yoga foundation by exploring the history of the yoga tradition and Tantric Anusara philosophy. Anusara Principles of Alignment and the anatomy of movement enhance structural and energetic foundations. Support your physical practice with pranayama techniques and meditation that will serve you in profound ways.
Immersion II: RISING ENERGY Understanding essential yoga wisdom is key to an integrated practice. Contrast the Yoga Sutras from a classical and Tantric aspect. Learn about the energetic anatomy of the body (chakras, prana, Koshas) and the elegant connection to Anusara Principles and alignments. Deepen your meditation practice with contemplation and journaling.
Immersion III: DIVINE ACTION Dive into the Bhagavad Gita and the philosophy of Tantra, attracting that which is life affirming. Understand at a cellular level the application to every level of your practice, relationships, thoughts, actions and feelings. Lay foundations for the art of yoga sequencing.
Teacher Immersion: OFFERING SELF Put all that you've learned into practice as you guide others into aligning their bodies with practical hands-on sessions. Learn to use language that maximizes the impact of your words, how to adjust students verbally as well as physically. Develop a class that reflects your individuality combined with the art of sequencing within the Anusara tradition.
Apprenticeship: Hone your skills of physical adjustments by adjusting in 12 public classes with private tutoring after each class. Teacher's approval required. This is usually a one on one training session that will provide the ability to refine your physical adjustments in an artful way, so that students can move into their ultimate pose with confidence and grace.
Instructor: Sherry Schreck, RYT, M.S., has been teaching teachers for over a decade. She has trained extensively under Todd Norian and the founder of Anusara, John Friend. Sherry is recognized as one of the most experienced Anusara teachers in the San Diego area: a dedicated and talented yogi in her own right. A spirited communicator, this training is a reflection of Sherry's own passions, and the transformative power of the heart.
Tuition: Immersion I, II & III, plus Teacher Immersion $2400 if pre-paid by Aug 30, 2008. Full prepayment also entitles you to unlimited yoga with Sherry during the course of the Immersion. At the conclusion of the Immersion, and with teacher approval, the Apprenticeship is an additional $400.
OR pay as you go $700 per session due at the first weeekend of the Immersion, $400 Apprenticeship.

Refund Policy: Full refund less $100 administration fee, prior to start of Immersion. After the start of the Immersion, opportunities will be available to complete missed areas in subsequent sessions.
