About the Willows Yoga Foundation

The Willow tree is a powerful symbol for the yogic perspective. The supple branches vibrate, flowing with grace in the breeze.  Willow trees are among the first to move into disturbed landscapes and create change and movement, healers of the planet and habitat. Their power to balance, and provide a harmonious foundation for slower growing trees reflects our own ability to heal and strengthen, support the community and recognize and honor the flow of life.

“The willow bends to drink” is a powerful metaphor for creatively living as the moment presents itself, and then to play that moment in the most life-affirming way, filling our hearts, pulsing more strongly with the knowledge and inspiration that already exists within each of us, the inward aspects of human emotion.  In bringing our attention inward, the Trees of Remembrance remind us that we are profoundly connected to one another, to stay connected to that Great Consciousness, and to continue to act with the power of our love.

Celebrating the essence of life, Spirit, and our hearts, yoga at The Willows promotes that which creates freedom and balance, grace and vibrance, is life-affirming and fun-loving.

The Willows Foundation is currently transforming from a studio environment to the practice of seva in the community or yoga without walls. The teachers of the Willows are s inspired by Anusara and Tantra with an uplifting philosophy that sees good in all people, all things.

At the core of the The Willows Yoga is the sense of family, the community. The kula is the heartbeat of collective wisdom, the driving creative force and each teacher has many hundreds of hours of yoga teacher training, including Anusara and yoga-related trainings that are synergistic and supportive of that divine flow. Each teacher has a total dedication to the art of teaching, and that passion attracts students with their own commitment.
